Assam Cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass asserted that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is poised to become the second Chief Minister of Assam from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), citing his strong record in infrastructure development and governance.

Responding to Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi’s earlier remark questioning, “Who is Himanta?”, Dass said that such statements no longer hold relevance as Himanta Biswa Sarma’s work speaks for itself.

“Today, people from every corner of Assam know who Himanta Biswa Sarma is. He is widely recognised for his contributions to infrastructure development and transformative governance across the state,” Dass told the media.

He further stated that under Sarma’s leadership, Assam has witnessed rapid development in sectors such as roads, healthcare, education and connectivity, earning him widespread public support.

Dass made these remarks while inaugurating several newly constructed roads in Bajali district. The road projects, he said, are part of the state government’s commitment to strengthening rural connectivity and improving the quality of life of the people.

“The development works being carried out in Bajali reflect the larger vision of the Chief Minister to ensure balanced and inclusive growth across Assam,” Dass added.

The minister expressed confidence that the people of Assam would once again repose their faith in Himanta Biswa Sarma for continued development and progress of the state.
