Jio and Airtel have enabled a new caller tune for all users across the nation to spread the awareness of the deadly coronavirus. The caller tune basically starts with a coughing sound and then leads to some safety measures that consumers should follow in order to stay away from the virus. The initiative comes right after dozens of cases being reported in India. As of now, Coronavirus has spread across over 90 countries and over 1 lakh cases have been reported. In India, 31 people are affected as per India TV reports.
The message begins with a coughing sound and highlights how you can stop “novel coronavirus from spreading”. It says, “Always protect your face with a handkerchief or tissue while coughing or sneezing. Regularly clean hands with soap.” The message is played out in Hindi to provide awareness to the masses in the country.
Apart from this, both Reliance Jio and Airtel provide users with helpline numbers if they require assistance. However, the helpline numbers are only listed during some calls, whereas, other calls skip them totally.
This caller tune has been added to all Jio and BSNL numbers, which do not have a caller tune already active. For the people who already have a caller tune, nothing will change. To remove this message, you can simply activate a caller tune on your number, Indian express reported.
