Commemorating 100 days countdown in run up to 8th International Day of Yoga 2022, on its 88 days countdown, a ‘Yoga Mahotsav 2022’ was held at Shraddhanjali Kanan Park, Guwahati.
Organized by the Institute of Yoga and Nutrition Science, Guwahati in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi with the theme ‘Yoga for Disease Free Society’, the event has been aligned with 100 days, 100 cities and 100 organizations mission of Ministry of Ayush.
Speaking about the initiative, Popular Assamese Actor and demonstrator of the event Nayan Nilim said, “Originated from India, yoga is one of the oldest holistic health care systems which deals with physical,mental and spiritual well-being. For a disease free individual as well as society, regular practice of Yoga is very much required. The steps taken by the Ministry of Ayush to promote health, peace and the motto of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Minister of Ayush Shri Sarbananda Sonowal through 100 day countdown to ‘International Yoga Day-2022’ is commendable. We are thankful to him for choosing Guwahati as one of the destinations.”
Nilim further thanked all the participants who joined the programme and made it a successful one. To celebrate Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, Yoga will be demonstrated at 75 Heritage/Iconic cultural sites on 21st June, 2022. Besides, the Ministry of Ayush will conduct workshops, seminars across the globe and will propagate benefits of Yoga using mYoga App, Namastey App, Y-break App. Various people centric activities and programmes will be launched on MyGov platform including Photo contest, quiz, discussion, pledge, poll survey, jingle etc.
