7-Foot-Long Python Rescued in Bajali, Released in Manas National Park

A 7-foot-long python created a stir among locals at the Nityananda area in Bajali district being safely rescued by the Pathsala Forest Department.
The snake was spotted by residents of the area, prompting them to alert forest officials. Responding swiftly, the rescue team from the Pathsala Forest Department reached the location and successfully captured the python without causing harm to either the animal or the public.
According to forest officials, the snake appeared healthy and was likely searching for food when it entered the locality. After a routine health check and ensuring it was fit for release, the python was transported and released back into its natural habitat in the Manas National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich biodiversity.
Forest officials have urged residents to stay calm and report such sightings immediately instead of attempting to handle wild animals themselves.
