The price of boiler chicken has seen a sharp rise in Pathsala, with rates reaching Rs 200 to Rs 220 per kilogram in the local markets. Meanwhile, in nearby areas of Bajali district, the same chicken is being sold for just Rs 80 to Rs 120 per kilogram, sparking anger and confusion among local residents.

This significant price gap has raised serious concerns. Many residents are questioning the unfair pricing, asking, “Why are we paying double for the same chicken available at much lower rates just a few kilometers away?”

In Pathsala market, not just chicken but even vegetable prices are soaring. Common people are struggling as essentials become unaffordable—there’s no control over this rising cost of living.

Locals are now demanding immediate action from the district administration and the food and civil supplies department. Citizens are calling for strict price monitoring and uniform meat rates across the region to ensure fairness and stop exploitation.
