Assam’s Gourangalal Das assigned as Indian Ambassador in Taiwan

Mr Gourangalal Das, a cadre from 1999 Indian Foreign Service(IFS) batch has been appointed as the Indian Ambassador in Taiwan. He was serving as the Counsellor (Political) in the Indian Embassy, USA.

He hails from Metuakuchi, Barpeta and is the son of Dr Motilal Das. He studied in an Assamese Medium School from Barpeta and secured the first position in the HSLC examination in 1991.
He was with PM Narendra Modi while discussing the bilateral issues with Donald Trump in the White House back in 2019.
