“I Don’t Request, I Order”: Zubeen Garg Reacts to Chanmari Incident

Assam’s popular singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg has strongly reacted to an alleged insult against singer Diganta Bharati by the Chanmari Bihu Committee, demanding an immediate public apology. The controversy erupted during a recent Bihu function where Diganta Bharati was reportedly treated disrespectfully by the organizers.
During a function held in Nalbari Zubeen said, “I don’t request anyone, I order. They must apologize to Diganta Bharati.” The stern statement from Zubeen has created a wave of reactions on social media, with fans and well-wishers supporting his stand.
Zubeen, who has always been vocal about issues concerning artists and Assamese culture, expressed deep displeasure over the way fellow artist Diganta Bharati was allegedly humiliated. He emphasized that such disrespect towards cultural figures will not be tolerated.
The Chanmari Bihu Committee is yet to issue any official statement in response to Zubeen Garg’s remarks.
The incident has stirred widespread discussion in Assam’s cultural circles, highlighting the need for mutual respect among artists and organizers during the state’s most celebrated festival.
