Bajali Police have carried out extensive drives in Pathsala town and its adjoining areas against people who do not wear masks in public places on Tuesday.

For ensuring COVID-19 protocols amongst the people of the Bajali District, a Task Force have already been constituted for driver and monitor whether public has followed the COVID-19 standing protocols in public place or not.

The Task Force is continuing its drive under Pathsala, Patacharkuch, Bhabanipur areas.
Bajali Superintendent of Police, Dhramendra Kumar Das led the drive in presence of Magistrate, Partha Pratim Choudhury with the help of traffic police and caught a number of citizens without masks.

Those who were found violating the norms were imposed fine of Rs 1000 under the Disaster Management Act and IPC. The team also distributed mask to the public.

Superintendent of Police, Dhramendra Kumar Das, said, “We have started to impose fines on those people who were found not wearing masks. As per the government order we have started this drive. I have been present here since morning and monitoring the process. I also urged people to follow COVID protcol.”he said.


The police personnel also counseled a number of citizens and requested them to wear masks and maintain social distancing in public places in view of the covid surge.
