Zubeen Hits Lead Bajali’s Road Safety Awareness Drive
Popular Zubeen Garg songs echoed through the streets of Pathsala as local artists performed the singer’s hit songs to draw public attention during a road safety awareness programme organised by the Bajali Police. The unique initiative aimed to engage citizens—especially the youth—by blending music with an important social message.
The awareness drive was conducted at the bustling Pathsala Point, where police personnel distributed road-safety leaflets and interacted directly with commuters and pedestrians.
The campaign was supervised by ASP Trinayan Bhuyan, along with Mary Kalita- Assistant Commissioner & Bhobarnab Nath- DySP (HQ) Mrigakshi Das-DySP (P), who monitored the event and appealed to citizens to adopt safe and responsible driving practices.
During the programme, citizens were advised to avoid driving on the wrong side, follow speed limits, and refrain from using mobile phones or wearing headphones while driving or walking along roadways. The advisory also stressed the proper use of vehicle indicators, avoiding unnecessary high-beam lights, and maintaining discipline in No Parking and No Halting Zones.
Residents were further cautioned against allowing minors to drive vehicles. Two-wheeler riders were urged to wear ISI-marked helmets, while warnings were issued against risky behaviours such as performing stunts, rash driving, and blocking roads during morning or evening walks—common causes of local accidents, as previously highlighted by police.
To make the programme more engaging, local artists performed popular Zubeen Garg songs on the street, attracting a large number of passersby. Officials said Zubeen’s widespread popularity helped draw crowds and ensured that road safety messages reached a broader audience. The musical approach created a positive and lively environment, encouraging people to stop, listen, and absorb the importance of road discipline.
This initiative forms part of the Bajali Police’s ongoing efforts to build a culture of safe and responsible road use. Previous awareness drives primarily involved leaflet distribution and direct public interaction, but the addition of music has significantly boosted public participation and interest.
Police personnel have urged all residents to follow road safety guidelines to reduce preventable road mishaps in the region. They emphasized that community cooperation is vital for making Bajali’s roads safer for everyone.
