Raas Mahotsav in the entire Bajali subdivision including Helona, Pathsala, Patacharkuchi, Baghmara strikes the right chord as it enters its fourth day.

The Ongoing popular religious and mega event of Assam, Raas Mahotsav here in full swing now with the mega religions-cultural event enters its fourth day which starts from 11 November with a 15 days colourfull program.
The historic festival of Raas Mahatsov in Helona village has completed 102 years. Centenarian idols of Sri Krishna repaired and on display.

Thousands of people gathered in the Helona Raas Mahatsov to witness a hundred-year-old repaired idols of Lord Sri Krishna and many idols of different divine characters of Indian mythology besides large number of stalls of commercial establishments can be seen here.

While in Pathsala town, devotees from various parts of the state visited at 44th Raas Mahatsov for the enjoyment of main attraction – an exhibition of more than two hundred clay arts symbolizing Lord Sri Krishna. Moving idols of Lord Krishna riding on horse ‘chariot rath’, deforestation are the main attraction of this Mahotsav. Bamboo dustbins have replaced the plastic dustbins and visitors coming from all walks of life have praised the efforts put on by the concerned people to curb plastic pollution.


In Patacharkuchi, this year more then 150 clay idols depicting the stories of epics, Veda, Mahabharat and Ramayana installed in decorated stalls. The river bed of kaldia decorated with light and live train show, the abduction story of seeta by Ravana displayed by clay idols with the help of fusion of light in the river bed.

On the other hand, The people of Baghmara has been celebrating the Raas Mahotsava for a long time. People from all walks of life participate in the festival with tremendous enthusiasm and, as a result, Baghmara village turns into a sea of humanity during this period. The festival also tightens the bond of unity among the people with out cast and creed.
