At a time when uses of plastic indiscriminately posing serious threat to the environment and awareness drive is on under the aegis of Govt and various NGOs to avoid the habit of using single use plastic and using alternative recyclable bags one paper bag manufacturing small industry have recently been declared open formally by religious rituals at haripur area of Pathsala. It will give a relief to the people of the locality to change the habit of using single used plastic bags.


The small industry with a capacity of 60 thousand bags per hour. “ It is very significant when people in wants of alternative carry bags the industry will serve the need of the people’, said Anunda Khataniar brand ambassador, Forest and environment department after formally declared it open in presence of local people.


The bags will be comfortably use by the people for shopping, grocery, pharmacy, bakery etc. said director of atlas associates a local company. He also informed that the paper for making bags have been imported from China and USA and this will be the first such industry in the barpeta district of lower Assam. They will distribute the bags at first at Barpeta, Nalbari, Rangia, Mangaldoi, Guwahati etc and spread it to other places.


They employed seven people in the production unit. The price of the single use recyclable waterproof bag will be 40 to 150 per kg bags they also informed.
