Passenger bus hits divider in Bajali, 30 injured
Atleast thirty people sustained injuries after a passenger bus rammed into a divider at NH-27 near Gaila toll gate in Bhawanipur, Assam’s Bajali.
Sources said, the passenger bus, bearing the registration number AS01 GC 5040, lost control over the vehicle and hit into the divider at the toll plaza. Following which thirty people were injured in the accident.
The injured persons were admitted at Bhawanipur CHC.
The locals of the area rushed to the accident spot and informed Bhawanipur police, following which police personnel reached the accident spot with ambulances and rescue them.

Fraudster scams Pathsala woman of Rs 1 lakh
At a time when digital transactions have become common in all business establishments across the country, there has been a simultaneous surge in fraudulent activities and scams within the digital realm.
In a recent incident, a woman posing as a customer made off with clothing valued at Rs 1 lakh from a store in Pathsala. Kalpana Baruah Kalita, the owner of the shop in Milanpur, sells her merchandise both from her physical store and through her Facebook page.
Kalpana recounted, “A customer, who identified herself as Mousumi Singh, placed an order for clothing and accessories through online payment. She also presented receipts that appeared to be legitimate, following which we dispatched the products via DTDC, Pathsala, as per the provided address.”
She went on to explain, “Due to a phone pay glitch, we did not receive any transaction records for other customers either. The woman sent screenshots of the receipts from her WhatsApp, which later turned out to be fake.”
“Upon verifying her payment in our current account and consulting with Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Pathsala, the branch manager confirmed that no such payment had been received in our account, in accordance with the phone pay receipts presented by Mousumi Singh,” Kalita added.
Later, when Kalita tried to contact Mousumi Singh on her mobile, she informed her that she would speak with the bank. However, she turned off her phone and never responded back.
Meanwhile, Kalita lodged a complaint against the woman with the Bajali police.

Varsity Week gets underway in BU

The annual varsity week of Bhattadev University, began at the campus on Tuesday.
After upgradation of Bajali College to Bhattadev University, this year the University organised the 2nd versity Week.
A cultural rally was taken out from the premises of Bhattadev University, where as many as 16 groups participated on Wednesday The rally was taken out through the main town of Pathsala. The students displayed various themes like, woman empowerment, farming activities and cultural heritage of various tribes and groups of North – Eastern India.
Various cultural, sports and extra – curricular events were to be in the upcoming days of the “Versity Week ” that will concluded on 03 April.

Bhattadev University Election Results Are Out: Check the Full List of Winners

Bhattadev University student union election was held today on 12 January. Student caste their vote peacefully and the results were declared in the evening, the same day.
Candidates from AASU, ABVP contested in the election.
According to the result declared Sri Debarshi Medhi from AASU elected as General secretary.
Meanwhile, Dhrupad Medhi elected as President and Debasish Talukdar elected as Vice president from ABVP win the seat.
