Bajali Police has arrested the prime accused in Pathsala’s petrol bomb attack case.
The arrested youth has been identified as 24-year-old Mintu Ali of Pathsala town in Assam’s Bajali district.
Ali was allegedly involved in a petrol bomb attack at the house of Dr. Ranjit Deka, an Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) leader and educationist at Pathsala.

On August 7,  Mintu Ali allegedly threw a petrol bomb targetting the house of AGP leader Ranjit Deka at around 9 pm.

Deka contested the last Assam Assembly elections on AGP ticket from the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency.

He runs the Anandaram Baruah Academy, a reputed private educational institute based in Pathsala.

During the incident, Deka was not available at his residence.

However, his family members were present when the incident took place.

After half an hour of the incident, Mintu Ali allegedly threatened Ranjit Deka’s wife from an unknown phone number.

Bajali superintendent of police Dhramendra Das said, “We have traced him through his mobile number.”

“A laptop and 13 mobile handsets were recovered from the house of Mintu Ali,” the Bajali Police chief informed.

“Further investigation is on,” the Bajali superintendent of police further said.
