The youths of Dhubri staged a dharna over the transfer of SP Anand Mishra on Sunday.

The Dhubri Superintendent of Police, IPS Anand Mishra has been transferred to Nagaon in an recent order by the Government of Assam.

The youths of Dhubri however, seems to be unhappy with the decision and hence, staged a dharna outside the SP bunglow in Netai Dhubuni Ghat.

In a video, youths urged Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and DGP Assam police to cancel his transfer order.

Sources revealed that about 100-150 youths gathered around the SP bungalow at around on Sunday morning.

However, due to the recent curfew order from 12 noon, the dharna was cut short.

SP Mishra also came forward to have a word with the protesting youths and advised them to accept the decision as this is how the system works.

IPS Anand Mishra will be handing over his charges as Dhubri SP to IPS Gurav Abhijit Dilip who is currently the SP of Nagaon.
