The Post Graduate students of Gauhati University have sat on a protest to demand postponement of offline exams to be held on 29 January and to conduct it in online mode.

Students claim that a lot of students have fallen sick or have contracted COVID-19 due to which they require time to recover and hence, the exams must be postponed or taken in online mode.

Earlier, the Gauhati University administration had postponed indefinitely the exams scheduled on 27 and 28 January for PG Odd Semester and Integrated M.Com.

Amidst a rising concern about number of deaths in Assam and with the peak of COVID-19 to arrive as per medical fraternity, the students of Gauhati University were seen demanding online exams.
